Café World > Dishes
Update (12th of March 2010): Thank you for your patience! For about two weeks, I was unable to edit this post on my blog. I had to contact my server to be able to increase the memory of my blog and to use a more recent programing code (php 5). But now it is working, and I promise to make the dishes updates very quickly!
If a stove is empty you can begin a new dish by clicking on it. This opens up the Dish Menu where you can choose which dish you wish to cook. The cost of a dish is different depending on how long they take to fully cook and how many Cafe Coins you make from serving them. Dishes award experience every time you complete an ingredient step – be sure to complete all three to set your dish cooking!
Plan ahead by cooking dishes that will become ready to serve the next time you check back in on your Café. Moving your mouse/cursor over a fully prepped dish will display its current cook progress. This is shown as a green progress bar, with a percentage to completion on the left side of the bar.
Here’s an incomplete table of how many Café Points you can get from each dish:

Deleting Dishes
If you run out of counter space to serve a new dish you have the option of deleting an in-progress dish from the stove or deleting a dish from a counter. You can delete dishes by clicking on an in progress dish on your stove or counter and selecting Yes from the Delete Dish confirmation pop-up. Careful! Once a dish is deleted it cannot be returned.
Spoiled Dishes
Care should be taken not to leave fully cooked dishes on the stove for too long! Dishes will start to spoil if they sit around. Spoiled dishes are useless and must be thrown out before you can begin a new dish.
Hi Anton,
Thanks for your tips! It’s so helpful. I wish I found this sooner. I’ve been playing for a couple of months now and finally reached level 42. I actually leveled twice using your guide!!! I was bored the other day (I really hoped that I did this sooner) and started googling “how to level fast cafe world” and after browsing through a few senseless website which actually takes you to purchase a guide, I found yours!!!
Thanks again!
You are very welcome Beth
Hiya Anto,
I dont know if you noticed the FISH N’CHIP dish on the game. Do you or anyone know the CP points for it?
@ Reno,
Yes I did, sorry it took me time to make the update.
There *is* a faster way to level, though, but it isn’t free, of course.
Find the dishes that give the greatest number of Cafe Points for prepping vs. the cost of the dish. Take one of your stoves, and use it to prep that dish over and over, throwing it out after doing so. You pay the cost of the dish, you get the Prep Cafe Points.
You can make roughly anywhere from 2,000 to 15,000 CPs per 100k spent, depending on the dish you select.
Like I said, though. It isn’t free.
Bear in mind, however, that short-cooking dishes (anything less than 30 minutes) cannot be deleted. Since short-cooking dishes aren’t eligible for the prep-n-toss treatment, Caramel Apples are the best deal for your money (90 coins for 12CP = 7.5 c/CP.
At only 12CP per dish, however, it’s a bit slow, especially at higher levels. I prefer these dishes:
* Tony’s Classic Pizza (19.0 c/CP),
* Voodoo Chicken Salad (19.4 c/CP),
* Delicious Chocolate Cake (18.1 c/CP), or
* Shu Mai Dumplings (15.8 c/CP).
You won’t get as many CP for these as you would for prepping Caramel Apples, but you’ll spend far less time at the keyboard.
Thank you Aaron
New Dish!
I’ve prepared 5 stoves of them.
that’s odd; I didn’t notice any CP Points yet.
ginger, pineapple, and i forget the last ingredient.
don’t know how it looks like because one it “covered” on the stove. 18 hours until I find out.
please keep me up dated and posted.
the last ingredient is celery.
so, what dish uses: pineapple, ginger, and celery….
@ Dorothy, thank you for the new dish info. Unfortunatly I won’t be able to add it to the table before next Tuesday…
You won’t see the dish until a customer has it on their table-I wish they kept it uncovered on the serving table..
I just served it and made 174 points. It’s 99 coins per serving and you get an additional 25 servings in your gifts.
I dunno if it’s an error by Zynga, but it cost zero (0) coins!
what is it?
it’s the VIP Dinner
Here’s more of the skinny:
“You can now cook the FREE and highly profitable VIP Dinner!
Move fast, this great limited time opportunity is only here until January 7th!”
-Zynga
Zynga is putting a little ‘mystery’ in their dishes! fyi: less then two day event.
I have many dishes cooking. Would it be good to “DELETE” them and cook the VIP dishes?
The VIP Dinner doesn’t give any CP points for cooking, but could possibly give CP points for serving and cleaning. Not too sure, or it could be an item that is purely for Cafe coins. I didn’t have any free stoves to cook , but looked in the cookbook and a photo of the super sliders was shown.
have just served the new mystery vip meal. got 174 CP when served it, per stove. hope this helps
saw the same thing: super slider photo, before the mystery dish photo was put on.
I’m new to the game and wasn’t there when super sliders were being served.
are the ingredients, mentioned earlier, the same ingredients for the super slider?
NO no no, its not super sliders. How often do you see the last dish you made pop up for a second, and then the new one shows up on your stove. The game probably used whatever spots were reserved in its coding for the Super Sliders for this VIP dish. The sliders obviously had the meat. And there are no CPs for preparing it because churn and burn people like Graeme (not that there’s anything wrong with that, perfectly legal. I have over 1.5 mln coins) would get free CPs. They are going to make you earn your CPs by waiting for the dish to finish. Personally I thought 24 and 56 coins were excessive. Dishes like this create a cafe inflation. Just like how every animal in FV is now 80 or more coins for brushing. Its Zynga inflation I tell you.
nice insight Matthew. I like it a lot.
I’ve taken the chance and put all my stoves cooking this dish tonight.
It’s good to take break for now at least for 18 hrs.
dorothy
btw: update on my cafe world; I couldn’t help it, I’ve DECORATED! lol.
spent about 750,000 coins on decorations.
Have the place look visually pleasing: priceless.
Happy Gaming
Matthew you are correct. I went to visit neighbors cafe and some served the VIP dinner so I got a sneak peek.
what? I don’t understand… How are some neighbors already serving the VIP Dinner? It was posted just a couple of hours ago.
Sorry for the confusion DorothyJean. I meant that it was served randomly as a daily special. When you visit neighbors’ cafe and get rewarded 5 cafe points and 20 coins.
Hi Helen!
thanks for clearing up my confusion.
more information:
I was googling; found out that this is a “5 course” mystery dish. hmm…
still a mystery to me.
@Helen
I’ve visited most of my neighbors to try to get a sneak peak of the mystery dish.
still no sightings of what’s under the cover.
what did you see?
you want to see whats inside?! just visit this page http://www.lightchan.com/2010/01/04/cafe-world-vip-dinner/
Will do.
However, I’m having a problem loading this page.
this is among the pages that I’ve run into with Google’s search engine;
My guess, there’s a lot of traffic going into the page. so far tried it on Mozilla and Chrome – no luck so far on loading the page.
thanks for the update Linda!
wow! Linda! great job!
I’ve gotten on!
amazing. they’ve got the scoop on the VIP Dinner, and the detail are great!
if the link is accurate, VIP Dinner is just a ‘cash dish’. **sigh**
anyhow, they were not kidding when they mentioned most ‘profitable dish’.
If that information is right, that sure looks tasty and makes some money.
But concerning CP, that’s not so impressive. Don’t think I will give that more than 4 stoves.
According to the link provided by Linda the VIP dish gives us 174 CP when served and 99 coins when sold. If my math is right that comes down to .73 CPs/min IF you burn and churn all those coins you earn.
Not bad but there are better dishes to prepare unless you really need a 18 hr dish. If so then it is a very good deal. Peking Duck is the only other 18hr dish and it only pays .31 cp/min.
Could someone please explain the concept of churn and burn to me? I sort of understand but not sure what the most efficient way to do it is. Thanks!
@Scott
‘Churn and Burn’
“… if you like, you can “buy†CP’s to level up by repeatedly preparing and deleting foods that have a low cost-to-preparation-CP value, such as Caremel Apples (the best ratio of 7.5 coins per CP) or Voodoo Chicken Salad (19 coins per CP, but more coins per preparation cycle).”
-Graeme (see refer to December 20, 2009 post)
Also, it seems the VIP dish has replaced the Gingerbread House, as it has disappeared from the cookbook.
Hi. I know i’ve never posted here before.
I used 6 stoves of the VIP Dinner. I made it at 7am this morning. It’s still going. I saw the picture on Linda’s page. It’s so awesome. I just recently joined Cafe World. (I’m on level 35). I mised the Super Sliders and the Vampire Staked Steak. I’m mad. And what’s even worse is that the Gingerbread house is gone.
But atleast i’m here for the V.I.P Dinner. It sucks that they put some of these dishes out for so loung. OH and whens the Sweet Seasonal Ham gonna be leaving?
I have a problem since i start cooking vip dish.
I do not get any cafe points. even for my king crap bisque that im serving.
Anybody else who got this problem?
Ok, VIP Meal is a 5 course dish, until 7 Jan, cost is $0, Serving will get you 200 CP per dish. They go really fast, the wife cooked 4, gained 8oo cp.
I read somewhere that the VIP Dinner gives 197 Cafe points once it’s done cooking, but you don’t get any for prep.
Just served the VIP dinner a while ago
its gives 174 CP per serving
@Dave
I think that the VIP Dinner is 0.162037037 CP/min
= 174 + 1 (Cleaning) / 1080 minutes (18 hrs * 60min)
=0.162037037
Crackling Peking Duck is 0.153703704
= 165 + 1 / 1080
I noticed that when under “Gifts” 100 Overstuffed Peppers says 6 Coins per serving not 5.
The actual payout appears to be 5 Coins, because that would be the only dish on my counters registering 5 Coins gained…
Hi all,
Just for fun, I have made up a spreadsheet about best cafe dishes – download it here http://www.emcoggins.com/Cafe%20World%20Best%20Dish.htm
Just my vaguely mathematical thoughts – any comments welcomed.
(PS – didn’t include the VIP dish – only temporary so far)
Cheers
Thanks David, very complete info!
hi can i ask what burn and churn is? thank you
Burn and churn means to start preparing a dish and then deleting it. The best of the dishes would be Caramel Apples as it costs only 90 coins to buy the dish and you get all the points for preparing the dish. You will only lost the points for serving. In this way,you can speed up your level.
does anyone have the skinny on the new dishes?
martian brains baked
stardust stew
Anyone have an idea what the cp points are on the marian brain cake and the stardust stew?
All i know is that you get 11CP for every ingredient. (33CP total)

I’m too looking for DorothyJean’s questions. Also seems that the new Alien decorations will cost a pretty penny!
Also seems they extended the V.I.P dish! This will come in use for my new Alien cafe!!
Stardust stew:
Cost: 1000
Servings: 425
Earns: 6 per serving
(2550 total)
ready in 9 hours
xp: 6 per step
not sure how many you get for serving it, I just now started cooking it
seen that i have the martain brain bake on, will have to wait untill this time 2moro to see what points i get
what’s with the alien theme interesting
Does anyone know yet how many cp for the two new dishes
martian brains baked & stardust stew
antooo please help meee!!
i cook delicious chocolate cake but it gives me 200cp!! at the beginnig that was 273 but now 200 why is that happennig?? im gonna be crazyy help me someoonne help me antoo =((
@ Crystal, Delicious Chocolate Cake gives you 200 CP when you serve it. But the total amount of CPs you get is 273, which includes serving, cooking and cleaning the stove
Its 11CP per ingredient for the martian brain bake and 6CP per ingredient for the stardust stew.. more to come for serving.
Thanks Lisa
Im a Level 58 now. and im looking to make new ways to get cp… Any suggestions? i have over 9 million in coins…
@ Luis, if you have time, you can high scoring dishes like Cheesburger, and then cancel it right away. You can do this over and over again and you accumulate cafe points fast. But it is very time consuming.
churn and burn are bisques (cost $24/per point, but you accumulate them way faster). if you don’t want to blow money that fast, go for the voodoo at $19/per point, the wings at $16.67/per point, the pumpkin pie at $13.33/per point, or the apples at $7.50/per point. the cheaper the points get, the more you have to churn and burn (and the more frustrated you get). time is money.
Stardust Stew
(9 hours to cook)
18 (6 for each ingredient)
120 by serving dish
1 by cleaning stove
139 total Café Points
Thank you Helen, I just updated the post.
The Martian Brain Bake is available at level 37.
The Stardust Stew is just in between the Crackling Peking Duck and Tony’s Classic Pizza, so level 14 I presume.
Thanks Paul, I will update the table.
@ Anto, I experimented a while back and it won’t let you delete any cooking dishes that take less than 30 mins to cook…
@talli, burn and churn is when you set a dish to cook, doing all the prep work, and then immediately delete it by clicking on the stove and choosing to delete the dish. As above, dishes with short cooking times don’t give the delete option. This is a quick way to get cafe points – you get the cafe points for prepping the dish – but it takes a bit of money, as you don’t get the coins for serving the dish. You also don’t get the cafe points for serving the dish, either. As for efficiency, take a look at the spreadsheets linked here, and look for cafe points per coin, that takes into account only the cafe points you get for prepping the dish. Remember to not count the ones that take less than 30 mins to cook. That should give you an idea of how to burn and churn efficiently.
-Mary
Thanks Mary for clearing this out, maybe it’s some new rule that Cafe World imposed so that people don’t get Cafe Points by cooking and deleting.
creativecorner’s post at zynga forums says Martian Brain Bake’s serving CP is 280.
That makes 314 CP total for 24 hours.
Can someone confirm?
http://forums.zynga.com/showthread.php?t=350029&page=2
@Jonathan
When I say the VIP dinner nets .73 cp/min I’m including the burn and churn value of the coins it earns assuming I use Shu Mai Dumplings at 16 coins/cp.
@Anto
my opinion on the Alien Invasion on Cafe World: (it’s supposed to be funny) “Has Cafe World Lost their minds!”
the stardust stew seems very exotic.
however, how did feeding martian baked brains seem appetizing? I think not! thank god they didn’t resort to cannibalism. Imagine, what if it wasn’t martian baked brains, but human baked brains! haha
I love the new decorations, but I agree with gaz, they do cost a pretty penny.
@ Dorothy,
You are right, the brain stuf isn’t too appetizing. But if cafe world ever does cannibalism (which I really doubt), I will completely stop this blog, I would never encourage such humour.
@Anto
sorry, I didn’t mean to sound gross.
I did however, submit an idea to Zynga, which anyone can do as well; for the holiday dish, yeah I’m thinking ahead… the regiftable Holiday Fruitcake that you can regift; it would be the gift that keeps on giving.
That is ok Dorothy, I am not grossed
I am sure Cafe World will have something interesting for Valentine’s day!
Yes Jonathan, the Martian Brain Bake gives a total of 314 CP. I have added both new dishes to my score sheet – http://www.emcoggins.com/Cafe%20World%20Best%20Dish.htm The brains have a good score, 16th out of the approx 41 dishes.
DorothyJean – yes the brains are a bit “ikky” but it’s nothing compared to some other games!!
“ikky” is a great word to describe it, but who said I wasn’t feed brains to my Cafe World guest
lol.
btw: I meant the Martian Brain Baked….
First off you are amazing! Thank you for doing this!
Do you know how to remove neighbors? There are people that aren’t friends on FB any more and I would rather just delete them from being my neighbor. Any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks,
Joanne
@ Joanne, thanks for your encouragement and glad you like the blog
About removing neighbours, I don’t know how to do that. In fact, I don’t think you can right now, as I am in the same situation as you and I couldn’t remove neighbours.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. Hopefully in the future they will update their program and as you remove friends they will be removed as neighbors. Keep up the awesome blog! I swear there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t refer to this at least 3-4 times. Yes I know I am a big dork LOL!!
just wanted to ADD to the Information that Anto mentioned.
Long story short. Cafe World is Beta; Zynga is working on these options.
source: Zynga: customer support.
actual email:
“At this time, we cannot remove a neighbor from your Cafe. This feature is not yet included in Cafe world.
We are glad to let you know that we are currently working on new neighbor features including: removing neighbors, reminding pending neighbors and removing pending neighbor requests.
Thank you for your patience during our Beta period.
Best,
Zynga Customer Support”
Joanne, that is a great, awesome question!
@ Dorothy, thank you for doing the investigation for all of us. I think on Farmville you have the option of removing neighbours, therefore I am sure it will come for Cafe World as well.
Hi all – great comments and advise.
Is there a chart rating in order:
Serves – Cooking Time – Dish – most CP’s
This would be a great help to know what to cook prior to going to sleep and then when you have to leave the Cafe for hours at a time.
Thanks in advance.
Bobbi
hi Bobbi,
I’ve done an auto sort; from my spreadsheet, it appears that the item that has the “most net profit per hour” would be the 12hour dish, Overstuffed Peppers.
It comes in third, 1)VIP dinner 2)Cheeseburger 3)Overstuffed Peppers
I cook that when I have about or around 12,000 serves on the counter, so that I don’t have to take down any doors
so the flow still is going on while the dish is being cooked. at a Buzz of 105.0
i’ve read it’s about 800 serves per hour; I forgot what source I used to get the information; however, it’s been stated otherwise, in this blog, someone mention 900 serves per hour?
well anyhow, if you’re looking for the most net profit per hour dish… It’s the Overstuffed Peppers.
does anyone disagree?
Happy Gaming to you too!
While you were away, you missed the “VIP meal” that cost 0 to make, 174 cafe points to serve, and 99 coins per serving.
@ Arvin, yes I have missed the VIP meal, not sure if I should still include it in the table as you can’t use it anymore. But wow, that was a really bargain dish!
good morning!
a little thing about spreadsheets, if you happen to have excel, open office, or google docs spreadsheet programs running on your computer or internet
the -sort and filter- option “arranges data so its easier to analyze”
each program is different, you can sort and filter from A to Z, Z to A, Largest to smallest, Smallest to Largest… etc.
I hope this helps.
Firstly, I need to state, I don’t promote or represent any company.
just giving out resources for those who are interested in Document/Office programs which are free
I’ve found out while spending time on facebook, Microsoft has a Beta release of MSOffice 2010; for those who are interested; MSOffice Beta is free to try, until a certain amount of time, when then the software is release to manufacturer and all that jazz; for more information you may visit the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/download-office-professional-plus/default.aspx
other free Document/Office software:
Google Documents = docs.google.com/
OpenOffice.org = http://www.openoffice.org/
whether you choose to share spreadsheets or create your own, these links are always helpful to have in mind.
(side note: they all do about the same thing, it’s just a matter of flavors/preferences)
Thanks for the info DorothyJean. I don’t use those programs too often so it’s a little confusing – I usually print what you have sent and highlight.
I’ll have to try it when I have more time.
Have a great day.
Bobbi
Anto,
From what I understand, the tipping feature fell out of compliance with Facebook’s rules, so they’ve disabled it while they rework it to comply with Facebook rules.
@Mary
The tipping is still there but it seems to be only when I visit cafes I haven’t been to in a while. I’ve also noted that most of the time when it pops up and says that so and so needs help it offers me a sample dish but does not give a tip or bonus. Waste of time if you ask me.
@ Dave and Mary,
I guess we would have to see if they’re changing completely their tipping features. But I too think it’s a waste of time.
I have a question. Which kind of gifts do you prefer, dishes with multiple servings or one time for coins?
I have another question. What level are you and where are you ranked in your neighborhood? Maybe tell us who your top neighbor is.
I’m #4 at level 63 right now and Graeme is #1 at level 88.
Graeme can’t be contained. He’s the man. New Expansion folks. Costs 999,999 coins. Honestly, no one needs the expansion, but if you want to make your cafe better looking, and with more decorations, then buy it. My hint for everyone who doesn’t trap their servers, if you buy the expansion, don’t put tables on the outer edge, it will make the servers have to walk further.
Hi all,
Maybe a small tip I remove my doors for a few days and start cooking I have 7 counters and 12 stoves, I cooked in 4 days more then 180000 dishes so now I have re-opend my doors and starting to cook the long dishes so I don’t need to run to the comp everytime when something is done.
Happy cooking
When did they discontinue the ham?
@ Becky,
I believe they did. This morning in a fog I go to fix breakfast, i.e. a big batch of Powdered French Toast and almost cooked up some Impossible Quiche… ooops! We’re going to miss the hams.
Yeah, that totally messed me up in knowing exactly where every dish was and how many times to click to get to it!! hahahaha!
the martian brain bake is kinda creative, but the stardust looks like a rip off of the french onion soup. hope they come up with new ideas soon
@ Guy, yes exactly.
Dave asks, “I have another question. What level are you and where are you ranked in your neighborhood? Maybe tell us who your top neighbor is.”
In case it was a general question to whoever wants to answer, I’ll answer it…
The top 10 people in my neighborhood are Gökhan Uludağ (Level 135), Graeme McRae (89), Armando Treviño (89), Connie Ferrar (88), Chuck Farley (87), Victoria Muller (77), Maye Garcia-de Fiesta (74), Debbie Pisarek-Huisman (72), Sylvia Roque (71), Michael James (71).
If you factor in the coins my neighbors have on hand, and imagine they might “buy” CPs at 7.5 coins each, then my neighborhood looks like this: Gökhan UludaÄŸ (Level 1,779), Armando Treviño (192), Victoria Muller (124), Alpheus Castro (120), Graeme McRae (101), Iza Malinowska (98), Jay Dela Pena (95), Miguel Roque (94), Carolyn Safar (92), Chuck Farley (92). By the way, the estimated level 1,779 for Gökhan UludaÄŸ is NO MISPRINT! He has 369,807,267 coins!
Wow! someone’s at level 135!!!
Season Ham has been discontinued.
is maratian brain bake for a limited time.and do you stop at level 64.
@ Billy,
The alien theme is here for a while, not sure if it’s for a limited time.
The game doesn’t stop at level 64, some players have been up to level 130!
Anto, I found this earlier today. Had you heard about this?
Hey chefs,
The developers have let me know that we are looking at making some changes to gifts next week.
What this will mean is that gifts will be our next focus for getting some better optimization to the game. While many of you may be using your gifts daily we know some of you out there aren’t and have a pile of them stacked up on your account.
So we are posting up now that all of you should be using your gifts over the weekend as much as possible. One of the things discussed is placing a cap on how many gifts you can hold, and if you are over that cap you could lose some of your stored gifts.
Now is the time for using those gifts so you can get the full benefit of them.
We’ll make more announcements in game when we know when we will be making these changes but I wanted to get the word out on the forums as quickly as possible so the word could spread amongst our community.
Use em or lose em!!!
@Dave
where is the source of your information?
I’m going to use the Zynga game “farmville” as an example: according to the podcast from January 8/9th…
farmville is going to have an option where the items that are unwanted and unused items will be giftable.
source: (around 8min into the podcast)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beU9sgeTLfg
with that announced; I’m sure that similar changes will be done with Cafe World since it is from the same maker.
Happy Gaming
@ Dave,
No I didn’t know at all, thank you for informing us. I have a lot of gifts piled up and I will use them just in case I won’t be able to next week.
Wow, I have over 1000 and I guess they will go into the “garbage” if they put a limit on them. This is their way of getting even with those that are using Cafe World Bonus Checker.
They didn’t like the fact that we could get food this way. Oh well.
The way that I look at it is this…
When I started, it was fun and exciting to cook as much as you can to get a new stove… countertop… or new dish. I loved it. I am at level 58… so what. They came up with new decorations last week… that kept me busy for a couple of hours… what else was I to do with over 5 million coins? Should I work my ass off to cook lobster? All I ever see on oh so many posts is nothing but negitivity about Cafe World. In the meantime, other Zynga games continue to grow with the needs of their players. Cafe World… click on my stove… I’m done cooking.
@ Susan, really you will stop playing?
I understand your point. I didn’t even expand my cafe because I know I can’t serve more clients, so what’s the point.
Yes Anto… I’m afraid I am going to stop. I truely loved Cafe World, but it just seems pointless to spend so much time on a game that has no rewards. I always thought that farmville was a little boring, but every time I go on there I find new things that keep a player coming back. Cafe world is almose becoming a “chore”. I’ll keep my cafe, but probably will only check in every week or so. Thanks for all of your help though.
@ Susan,
I understand. I want to then offer you 2,000,000 coins to buy out your Café! You can use that money to do a trip around the World!
Just joking
I am sure that liking to play Cafe World is not a permanent thing. It was good though the time that it lasted. If you do decide to stop and you find another hobby the involves a fun online game, please let us know
Why would anyone have 1000 gifts saved? I see no reason in the world to do that. What do you gain? I have too many servings of everything. I am angry that I can’t change my counters without destroying food unless I wait (and I will wait). Just use up the gifts. What’s going to happen with them in your gift box? Absolutely nothing. And why accept them all if you have no use for them? I only accept gifts of 6 coins or more per serving. For the woman with 5 million coins. You could expand and buy the most ridiculous decorations. Maybe you did that. I’d like to see a drive through window. Personally I want to see the buzz go up higher. I am going to do a separate post I want answers to.
QUESTION FOR EVERYONE:
Susan says that Cafe World has been left in the dust compared to other Zynga games. Do any of you feel that its possible that the trick of trapping the waiters caused this? I feel this game is defeated when you get and maintain a 105 buzz. You can do that with 1 or 2 trapped waiters in an unexpanded cafe. So with an oversight like that, do you think Zynga gave up on it?
@ Matthew,
You are right, when they maintain it at a 105 buzz rating, you can’t get more client flow, and there’s no point in cooking more, having more stoves and counters and expanding your Café.
Matthew… trapping waiters isn’t the issue. In my most humble opinion… other Zynga programmers are not only in tune with obtaining new gamers… they strive to keep the interest of the long time users. When I go on Cafe World and send gifts… the next screen that pops up is the “send gifts” one. Since I already did… using that screen is not usable. Yet, it will pop up at least a few more times during game play.
We have four Cafe World players in our family and it bacame quite a debate about cooking food then deleting it. We all had differing opinions if that was “cheating” or not. Eventually, we all cheated. What fun is it in that? What else were we to do?
As far as decorations go… I sooooo loved my Cafe, but heck… I redecorated just because there was nothing else to do in there. I spent over a million on the floor alone… and I loved the old one!
It’s not trapping waiters… cook… dogs or otherwise. It’s Zynga programmers! I suggest that they stroll across the hall and look into the cubicles of the programmers and see what they are doing. Maybe a strategy meeting with stats and blog comments from websites. Zynga… this ain’t crack… we can walk away from it at any time.
Who knows.
I agree with Sue about the decorations. I am a mad decorator…. but if they are going to bring out a chair could they bring out a couple of matching tables, walls or vice versa? Are all the programmers color blind boys? I like my games to look as ‘real as possible… sad I know, but some of the decorations/colours are terrible.
As to the ‘cheating’ thing. I think if you can do it ‘within’ the game rules and not using external programs or scripts then its not a cheat. ie trapping waiters or deleting meals to level up. If they sell you coins and you get points for spending (as in Farmville) then I dont think thats cheating.
Like you I wish it was a bit more interesting. A bit harder to get the buzz up, a bit more unpredictable. Sad thing is that I have been playing so long that if they did make it interesting I dont think I could get back into the game. Farmville lost me as well. I just got sick of having to select/select harvest etc for my trees… too many keystrokes, plus I wish that occasionally the animals got out and ate all the crops..OR SOMETHING!
I love my Cafe and would like to add things to decorate more but this Martian theme is not my ‘cup of tea’. In fact I don’t like the flooring and would love other carpets but it wouldn’t match my decor.
As far as the food is concerned, I use what’s in ’storage’ to fill in the counters.
I too would like to have additional stoves and counters but it seems like it has stopped – I’m at level 55 and have 4 plus million CC’s to spend.
Come visit Bobbi’s Banquet and any suggestions are always appreciated.
may I offer an alternative to Cafe World.
here’s a clue: Zynga’s rival company is Playfish/Playdom
Happy Gaming!
Dorothy, is Playfish really fun to play?
@Anto
the playfish games that I’ve ventured out to play are Country Story, (similar to Farmville?)and Restaurant City (similar to Cafe World?); However, hasn’t been as interesting in Restaurant City as much as Cafe World; Sounds RC complicated when the game was described by my sister, who also introduced me to the Cafe World; in Restaurant City, the Cooks and Chefs can over exhaust. I think that’s what I find fascinating. However, I play Cafe World.
I hope this helps.
my opinion: I like Playfish’s Country Story because i find it fun to play.
@ Dorothy,
Yes it helps. Thank you for explaining about Restaurant City. I always wonder about that game. Wish I had time to try it and play it
@Matthew
I don’t think trapping is a big issue. It’s easy enough to arrange things without it and keep a 105 buzz rating. In fact had a constant 105 before I learned about trapping.
Right now I keep a constant 105 with a simple 12×13 cafe. I fit all my equipment and 24 tables perfectly. I have absolutely no reason to spend 400,000 coins to expand. All those coins have gone into leveling up.
I just don’t care about decorating. I enjoy working out how to maximize my growth rate. It is a delicate balance of time and resources. But at some point even that is going to get old unless they do something big to upset the process.
I’d like to see them allow higher buzz ratings and more customers, but I don’t think their servers can handle it. The game lags badly as it is.
Honestly I don’t see how this is a money maker for them in the first place. How many readers here spend real money on CW? What good is it except to buy fancy decorations?
If they would add super dishes with outrageous returns that one could only get with CW’s then they might have something that would get more people to spend real money. Otherwise, I’ll never spend a dime on the game. What does everyone here think?
Their servers cannot handle a higher buzz rating. I confirmed it. I hade my door in one corner, and made patrons walk around the entire perimeter (13 x 15) in a spiral such that every patron had to walk at least 60 squares before getting a table. After about 3 minutes, my browser would crash lol.
The Cafe World news filter seems to have been disabled.
Dear Anto,
What can you do to gain more Cafe Cash? Thanks ~R.
@ Randa,
Cafe Cash is hard to get. There was a promotion during the Holiday season where they offered one cafe cash per day. But you can get Cafe Cash by purchasing with real money.
…thanks. Yeah, I noticed that. I think they should make more ways for you to gain cash…like with coins! Why put it there if there isn’t any ways hardly to gain it, you know? Oh well. Thanks again. ~R.
You have to remember, Zynga has a business to run and one of the ways to get income is to ensure that the decorations you want can only be purchased with cash…. Thus we have to spend ‘real’ money. I doubt they will ever be giving a lot of cash away for free..
I agree with that Adrienne.

@ Randa, 35 total. Like caramel apple but more coins/h (165), for coins it is the best 2h dishes up to level 39 (Fish Tacos).
@ all Fish and Chips Level 18
hmmm.. I don’t really follow sports, however I have to put this question out there…
Is it football season?
Yes, the playoffs are currently going on, and Superbowl sunday is in 2 weeks, from this coming Sunday.
DorothyJean- Yes, it is football season. However, it is coming to an end soon. The super bowl is Feb 7th.
Hi: Just wondering about instant serve meals. When is the best time to serve them. I have reached 105 buzz rating and my waiters are not trapped. It seems there are most customers seated when you first open the game? or is it better to wait a few minutes to release the meal? thanks for helping !!!!
DorothyJean- Yes, it’s football season. We are in playoffs right now with Superbowl coming soon!
I am at level 62 and I love Cafe World but I am getting a little bored. I think mostly because their isn’t much to work for anymore. Besides the lobster at level 64 all I’m getting is 5000 coins. I don’t need the coins so don’t care.
I enjoy decorating my cafe but I want some Valentine decor. I don’t care about aliens or football.
HOTDOG AND GARLIC FRIES FISH N CHIPS
pls update photo. thanks
Robin, why do you need the photos?
Hey Anto,
Have you had any issues getting to your cafe? I can’t seem to access it, it appears as though the screen freezes as it loads. I have tried everything! any advise?
Make sure you have the latest version of Java and Adobe Flash. Works great playing in Google Chrome.
I had troubles w/Firefox and my brother didn’t on the same PC.
My Adobe Flash keeps crashing. I have updated but it doesn’t make any difference. Any ideas. I use it to enlarge Farmville – it’s easier to ‘harvest’ my crops and animals.
@ Joanne,
Yes this has happened to me once, but I logged on a hour later and there was no more problems. Is your café working now?
I updated my adobe and it worked fine. Thanks for asking.
Hey do any of you know what the Avatar items are? I can’t seem to figure it out.
Thanks! You guys are the best!
@ Joanne,
I had the same last night, also problems with sending gifts was not able the send buttun it was grey which normal is blue to send
Joanne,
Here is what my son, the computer systems analyst, had me do when I had that problem.
Open your task manager, click on the processes tab, click on image name. On all of your iexplore.exe (NOT explore.exe)right click then choose set affinity, then uncheck CPU 1… leaving only CPU 0 checked.
How it works is way over my head… but it worked for me.
Hey guys, i have a problem where the neighbors profile is replaced by a chef and the name Zynga, i cant send or recieve gifts and my buzz rating is between 5 and 10 and most people walk past my cafe.I can still cook but noone to buy them. any suggestions
@ Wayne,
I am not sure I understand…
At the bottom of the screen in Cafe World where it shows your neighbors profile with a photo and their name and their points, on our screen it showed no photo just a chef with the name ZYNGA but it did show the points which belong to that neighbor. I think it has been fixed, what i did was move a couple of tables out of the cafe and it went back to normal. It seems that too many changes upset the system. I have changed it back again and it did not interfear this time. I am having problems now on Farmville where my name does not appear as a friend on my husbands computer and when he sends me a gift i dont get it so will have to try and work that out somehoe. thanks anyway.
@ Wayne,
Yes that happened to me a few times, but it went back to normal the following time I played again. Like you said, maybe when you make too many changes it interferes with the system.
Hope your FarmVille problem gets solved as well.
Anto, not to digress but do you happen to have a page like this for Farmville? I’ve seen a few game pages out there but none as straight forward or user-friendly your cafe page. I’m trying to figure out how to get ahead in Farmville – experience points etc.
Seasonal Ham is now retired.
a few days ago i started losing food off my counters and stoves, then my buzz level dropped from 105 back to 5 despite having pleanty of food and waiters, people were coming in, but no one was serving them. I did some rearranging so that there was heaps of room for customers to move around tables, etc, the waiters did not have to walk too far, there was space around each table for serving (despite the fact that I had a buzz rating of 105 for ages previously with my old set up) but there has still been on improvenment. I know that other players have been having issues, but have these issues been resolved? Are others having the same problems still?
Hi Rebecca,
With all the excitement, I’m at loss for words… so just bare with me.
Zynga, has added a new feature that’ll have your buzz rating recovering in with the help of your visitors/neighbors.
there’s an option for your neighbors to clean your cafe. Once, they’ve done the cleaning, they leave a sparkle on your floors and walls.
when you see the sparkles, click on them, it’ll increase your Buzz Rating.
I think that the Buzz Problem that you mentioned is because of this new option that Zynga is adding to the the Cafe World
So, with that said. Your Buzz can go OVER 105.0!!!
Happy Gaming!
Sorry to hear.
Fell asleep after all the Sparkle excitement last night. I’d imagine that this problem would be fixed as soon as the New Sparkle thingamaggiggie had taken affect.
I’d also recommend contacting Zynga too.
If they mentioned a solution to the problem. Please feel free to post. I’m quite interested in a solution to this.
All the best. Happy Gaming.
WOW! I now have to clean up messes that are made in the cafe! anyone have more information on this new feature?
did you click on the sparkles after you’ve been visited by a neighbor who helped clean your cafe?
Well, anyhow, they’ve increased the Buzz Rating!
each visitor can increase your buzz RAting!!!
**click on the Sparkles**
try it out!
just to mention. the BUZZ increases everytime a person cleans/ visits your cafe!!!!
**click on the the sparkles!**
wooot Woot!
I have a Buzz of 108 so far
I mean:
**click on the Sparkles on YOUR Cafe**
does not work if you click on a Neighbor’s Sparkles
Hi DorothyJean, thanks for the information. I have been clicking on sparkles and my rating goes up but then it is back down within a few minutes, got up to about 15, now back on 5, still have food on all my counters, waiters clear paths, etc, but nothing is working. I have had the same food on my counters for days now (except the ones that have disappeared) I am just at a bit of a loss as to how I try and fix it as I have never had this issue before
Hi Rebecca,
I was so excited to find that Cafe World had broken it’s 105.0 Buzz Rating barriers! However, Left my Cafe World last night at 110.0 Buzz then returned this morning to my Cafe World to find the Buzz back at 105.0
Well, anyhow, to help you with your Buzz Rating. Let’s start with: I’m on a DSL Internet. I’ve noticed when I hit the ‘Save Game’ icon on the Cafe World window. it’ would bump my Buzz Rating, because it would ’sync’ with the CafeWorld’s ?server?…
Doing this for a friend’s daughter, I’ve found that it takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the internet speed and the computer; to reach the 105.0 Buzz mark.
Hit ‘Save Game’ a few times, Hire/Rehire the Employees, if all doesm’t change, I’d move counters/tables around… and repeat.
it maybe your employees that are glitchy.
I hope this help
Happy Gaming.
is there a certain amount of time food can remain on a counter?
I have yet to have any dish that is on a counter go bad … or any gift in my gift box. I have been serving tostada’s for over 1 week – because I made a BOAT load of them and would close my cafe when over night when I was cooking. I still have 30,000+ and the dish looks good to me!
Anto,
How do you feel about people who use bots to run their cafe?
I personally don’t like when anyone uses a BOT no matter what game is being played … and I play several and you can always tell based on stats. I DON’T LIKE IT
@ Dave,
To be honest, I don’t like using bots (nor I do know how to find bots) because I find it takes off the fun from playing the game. How about you?
I have mixed feelings about them. I use one in Mafia Wars to help my friends with jobs and collect properties. Otherwise I like to do most everything else myself.
But with Cafe I don’t see it. Most of the fun to me is being organized and figuring out the best balance of dishes to prep and serve. I’ve just been watching a few neighbors and it seems they are doing things at all hours of the day and night. Seems a bit fishy to me. No big deal really, I just won’t try to compete with them.
Hi Anto I really thank you for posting this blog it really made a lot of help esp in competing with my neighbor…=D please cont. updating and more power.
@ Blue Diamond,
My pleasure, and thank you for visiting
By the way I just updated with the two new dishes!
